MELLIES CORNER|PARENTING, LIFESTYLE|ALL THAT COMES WITH IT|WELCOME TO OUR JOURNEY

Mothers Meeting Xmas Coffee Morning

On Friday 5th December me myself and I headed out to the beaut Shoreditch house for a Mothers Meeting Xmas Coffee Morning. Cai stayed at home with his Grandma and had a lovely morning too.

Although I will take Cairo with me again to a Mothers Meeting, for now, is it bad to admit that I am enjoying going by myself, it's like a little treat. Just being able to go on the bus alone, listen to music, enjoy Shoreditch House and mamma talk without my lil' man doing jujitsu with spoons or whatever else he finds :).

Held in the library at Shoreditch house as always it was just such a pleasant, charming environment.
Plus you can breastfeed how you want #saynototeacloths sorry Claridges.
The Mothers Meeting ladies really do make you feel super relaxed and treat you like a dear old friend. Which is lovely as you never feel too out of place and uber uncomfortable. You know how it can be sometimes, every one knows every one and you're there like Loner Louis.

That is one of the things I love about Mothers Meeting, the network of mummies in situations so similar to your own. Just seeing each other once, you are assured to have a right old chinwag when you see each other next. You can indulge in speaking all about your little one, without having to censor anything. No worrying if you are boring someone with talks about your little ones nightly ritual or food habits, as it is a shared consensus.
It is just a wonderful place to have and word is definitely spreading like wild fire, as tickets to events get snapped up super quick. So do sign up to their mailing list and keep a little eye on their website for new events coming your way soon.
At the Mothers Meeting Xmas Special coffee morning, there were mummies there showcasing and selling their goods. There were photography experiences and balms suitable for mum, baby and the rest of the family, to name a few. That's what it's all about supporting, your fellow mamma (God knows how some of you do it) and small businesses.
Think of a mini market with a refreshment stand, a Christmas tree, in a luxe location - Sold yet?

Little ones were so well catered for as always and could have their nails and/or face painted.
A story teller also told some tales and he was really into character and kept a large number of little bubbas interested in the stories.

There was also a singer Maurice who aided with his guitar, sang and played nursery rhymes and catchy tunes with a Caribbean vibe to them. Loved it. Caribbean vibes at Xmas time - Sold yet?
Maurice can be booked through Beauty In Stars.

Little ones could have their nails did, with designs and everythang, by none other than Dinky Do Dah (who were also at Mothers Meeting Mamas & Papas event which you can read here). Dinky Do Dah were using water based, non toxic washable nail polishes available from Scout and Co Kids.

Okido magazine offer a bi monthly science and art magazine for children aged between 3 years - 8 years old. I had to buy one for my goddaughter as they have the most gorgeous illustrations and activities for children to do.

Magazines purchased from Okido.

Mini Ink London : I had a lovely conversation with the maker of Mini Ink all about our boys and why play dates can only commence with apparatus or an open field lol. I then spotted the most gorgeous two tone apron top for little girls, I nearly died from the cuteness. All items are handmade and all the t-shirts are made from 100% organic cotton and are hand screen printed. There are super cute unisex garments with a real fashionable edge. Harem pants, Junior Soundbwoy printed t-shirts and star printed skirts in black too - Sold yet?

You couldn't have a festive 'mini market' without the offerings of Tea. We British people do love our tea darling. Gold Lazer had festive loose leaf teas on offer, presented in little test tubes. Flavours including Sweet December, Festive Spice and Christmas Inacup. Gold Lazer have a gorgeous website which explains all you need to know about their tea fusions. They also have special Christmas tea gift boxes or stocking fillers available, so do check them out.

Sarah Baily : These leather goods Sarah Baily offers are just amaze-balls. I had my eye on a tree decoration I spotted on none other than Instagram and I had to snap it up when I saw it. Super soft, clean simple designs, they are gorgeous. From handbags and clutch bags to oyster card wallets and cushions, some in metallic or brightly coloured leathers, you can't go wrong.

There were also wonderful cookies & biscuits available that are so yummy, and what better name than cookie & biscuit. All their products are vegan, contain unrefined sugars and have no artificial flavours or dyes. From Almond coconut chocolate chunk cookies to Omega Granola bars there is something for everyone.

Sophie Stephens is an artist and she is kind of a big deal :). From doing work for Selfridges, House of Holland, Nylon magazine and our very own lovely Mothers Meeting. Sophie had design wallpaper, wall vinyls that have a clear background, so they will almost look like someone has had a nice doodle on your wall. Wall stickers available from boom boxes to superheroes, for purchase that morning.
Indikidual handmade clothing items that really are indikidual. Fun prints for babies and older children from bananas, smiley faces to shapes. All items are made using organic cotton and are designed with practicality and comfort at the forefront for our little ones. Do check them out as their kids wear is funky but really wearable with some one of a kind pieces. I had to make a purchase here also for my little man, I couldn't resist the grey splattered jogging bottoms.

Mrs Bojingles were offering baby slippers, pants and baubles. However these are not your standard baby accessories that you see everyday, these are handmade leather slippers with Elvis, Nirvana and Daft Punk to name a few on them. The pants are nappy cover ups which are suitable for newborns up to 3 years old and they are just like superhero pants. Shiny, bright coloured with a lighting bolt down the middle, guaranteed to be loved by the wearer of the pants too, which child doesn't love a bit of superhero dress up.

So many fantastic items were available and I was so proud of myself as I only bought three things (pictured above).
You have such a personal experience while shopping in between meeting lovely ladies and bubbas.
What a great way to spend a Friday morning.
Sold yet?
xx
