Mothers Meeting Social Media Special - Mellies Corner

The (at times) wonderful world of Social Media.

As soon as I saw the advert for this Mothers Meeting I booked with no hesitation probably 2 months in advance. You have to be quick with these Mothers Meeting events as tickets go like hot cakes.

The event was held at the forever gorgeous Shoreditch House and was fronted by Matt Hodkinson who is a digital marketing professional. Matt introduced himself and told us some of what he does and specialises in. He also provided us with a little background story which included clinical trials, Peppa Pig, BBC Breakfast and non other than Twitter. The four elements tied together quite well, as we all know Peppa rears her little head all too often in the parent world. I am sure this was also his youngest and most diverse audience, with babies ranging from all ages and breast feeding mumma's, He handled it all like a champ and provided a light and serene atmosphere for us all.

Jenny Scott, founder of Mothers Meeting was also there in full force with her 5 week old baby girl. Supamum!
I do look in awe at mummies and their little babies who have made it out the house, looking gorgeous, using public transport and everything. I tell you it gives me so much aspiration and fire to do this myself when we eventually have baby number 2. Public transport and public places when my son was 5 weeks old was all but a nightmare lol. I was not doing that at all! So a big shout out to all the mummies who make it out the house for human contact and to Jenny [ and your wonderous trainers. Seriously what a collection you must have :)], for providing us with a little mummy haven.

Mothers Meeting Xmas Coffee Morning

On Friday 5th December me myself and I headed out to the beaut Shoreditch house for a Mothers Meeting Xmas Coffee Morning. Cai stayed at home with his Grandma and had a lovely morning too.

Although I will take Cairo with me again to a Mothers Meeting, for now, is it bad to admit that I am enjoying going by myself, it's like a little treat. Just being able to go on the bus alone, listen to music, enjoy Shoreditch House and mamma talk without my lil' man doing jujitsu with spoons or whatever else he finds :).

Held in the library at Shoreditch house as always it was just such a pleasant, charming environment.

Plus you can breastfeed how you want #saynototeacloths sorry Claridges.

The Mothers Meeting ladies really do make you feel super relaxed and treat you like a dear old friend. Which is lovely as you never feel too out of place and uber uncomfortable. You know how it can be sometimes, every one knows every one and you're there like Loner Louis.

That is one of the things I love about Mothers Meeting, the network of mummies in situations so similar to your own. Just seeing each other once, you are assured to have a right old chinwag when you see each other next. You can indulge in speaking all about your little one, without having to censor anything. No worrying if you are boring someone with talks about your little ones nightly ritual or food habits, as it is a shared consensus.

It is just a wonderful place to have and word is definitely spreading like wild fire, as tickets to events get snapped up super quick. So do sign up to their mailing list and keep a little eye on their website for new events coming your way soon.

Mothers Meeting with Mamas & Papas : Armadillo City Launch

At the beginning of September I attended a special Mothers Meeting with Mamas & Papas to launch their new stroller - The Armadillo City.

The event was held at the wonderful Ace Hotel Shoreditch, where us mummies took over the 7th floor. We had beautiful views of the city and even a man, getting put through his paces on a rooftop by a personal trainer.

As always it was such a friendly and positive environment. I smiled so much and met some lovely mummies and even lovelier babies.

Never forgetting the babies or little ones, there was a nail station for the little ones to get their nails did, face painted and balloon animals available.

Gorgeous balloons by Bonbon Balloons decorated the main hall, meeting room and were a great toy for the little ones. I love attention to detail and everything followed the Armadillo City stroller colours - Black & Yellow. The balloons, the chairs, the stripes on the floor which we all thought were there for decoration purposes :).....little did we know.

We had an introduction from Olivia Robinson - Brand & Creative Director at Mamas & Papas, who gave us some background information on herself and the Mamas and Papas brand.
She then introduced us to the Mamas & Papas Armadillo City Stroller.

The Armadillo City was designed by Olivia's sister, a few extra touches were then added by Olivia and her mum, to make the stroller even more parent and baby friendly.

I think all us mummies were ooo'ing and ahh'ing once we saw that the Armadillo City stroller unfolded with one hand. Yes one hand. Yes a stroller that can unfold with just one.hand.

Now for me that is the stroller dream. I currently have a Silver Cross pram and we got a great deal on it, but it is not really outing appropriate.

With the Armadillo City you can push the pram with one hand/one handed steering which means :

- You can hold an umbrella while pushing the pram

- You can fiddle for your oyster / ringing phone while pushing the pram to get to the bus

- You can hold hands while walking with your little one, while pushing the pram

Plus many more one handed pram pushing situations, without having your pram running into the side of the road, some body's ankles, the lamp post or getting completely and utterly drenched in the rain.

All the above has happened to me :(

Three mummies were then asked to have a fold off.

2 major competitor prams put to the fold - unfold test.

The Armadillo City won in leaps and bounds. So simple, no fights with handles and levers, you don't need to read instructions or get 5 x demonstrations and still struggle.

We then had an introduction to two lovely ladies from Urban Walkabout who talked to us about great hidden gems across London. From things to do, classes, restaurants, doughnut shops, hidden beer gardens to name a few. A load of places that haven't been discovered and overrun by the trendies .... yet lol (apologies to any trendies that I have offended).

PRAMOLYMPICS.

7 teams of 7 mamas had to unfold and refold the Armadillo City stroller with one hand.
The fastest team of mummies would win a Armadillo City stroller. Each. Yes a stroller.

Although it was a competition and there was a buggy on the line, the competition, well for me was so funny. So many giggling and smiling mummies throughout the race and a big congratulations to the winning team after the pram off. A mummy to be was part of the winning team and won herself a stroller and we all know how much of a big help that will be for her and her growing family.

We were also treated to lunch from the Ace Hotel. From salads, to sandwiches and pizzas. I also tried my first Vita Coconut water and ummm.....after my first sip I will not be having anymore. Ever. They are not for me at all.

I think we all had such a lovely afternoon, feeling a little spoilt having been in the gorgeous Ace Hotel with rooftop views and walking away with goody bags and for some of us prams.

S. E. X with Mothers Meeting

Hey everyone, I shall be talking a lil' about sex in this post. For those that know me personally as in aunties and my mum. Maybe this is not the post for you to read. However without s.e.x (if I add full stops I'm not actually writing sex) Cai would not be here, actually neither would I :).

I am sorry mum. I do apologise in advance, I love you very much and I have tried to keep things as PG13 as possible.

After my amaze balls first Mothers Meeting experience which can be read here. I was waiting with bated breath for my next MM, and lo and behold they did not disappoint.

Let's Talk About Sex

With life coach and renowned 'sexpert' Dr Pam Spurr.

Umm yes please.

If you haven't heard of, or seen Dr Pam on your TV screens, more information can be found here. Dr Pam is also a regular speaker on Big Brother's Bit On The Side on Channel 5.

Let's Talk About Sex was held at the great Shoreditch house; where there was an intimate group of ladies in an air conditioned library, with refreshments for all.

Things began by an introduction from Dr Pam who gave us some background information about herself and told us what she would be discussing with us today.

My Mothers Meeting Experience

The [sometimes] great world of social media. I had found the Mothers Meeting page on none other than Instagram and followed them instantly!
I wish I had found out about Mothers Meeting a year ago but better late than never.
A few days later I had scrolled through their website and got tickets to their free event - Does Super Mum Really Exist. Yes I repeat free, no money to pay, zilch, nought, none.
How amazing is that.
