My Pregnancy 101

I had an amazing pregnancy and loved every moment of it.

I know it was a while ago but I remember my pregnancy like it was yesterday.

It was the start of the best experience of my life - motherhood.

As I have started this blog when my baby is 1+ years old, I wanted to catch you guys up and hopefully, you will get to know me a bit better too.

On my previous blog I used to answer weekly questions about my pregnancy, so I thought in keeping with that tradition, I would do a follow up post on my pregnancy in full.

So here goes my pregnancy journey:

Hey everyone, I shall be talking a lil' about sex in this post. For those that know me personally as in aunties and my mum. Maybe this is not the post for you to read. However without s.e.x (if I add full stops I'm not actually writing sex) Cai would not be here, actually neither would I :).

I am sorry mum. I do apologise in advance, I love you very much and I have tried to keep things as PG13 as possible.

After my amaze balls first Mothers Meeting experience which can be read here. I was waiting with bated breath for my next MM, and lo and behold they did not disappoint.

On July 24th I attended my second Mothers Meeting:

Let's Talk About Sex

With life coach and renowned 'sexpert' Dr Pam Spurr.

Umm yes please.

If you haven't heard of, or seen Dr Pam on your TV screens, more information can be found here. Dr Pam is also a regular speaker on Big Brother's Bit On The Side on Channel 5.

Let's Talk About Sex was held at the great Shoreditch house; where there was an intimate group of ladies in an air conditioned library, with refreshments for all.

Things began by an introduction from Dr Pam who gave us some background information about herself and told us what she would be discussing with us today.

New Additions : Mummy Edition III.5 of IIII

Hey hey hey everyone.

So for my last instalments of July's Style Editions, I wanted to show you guys what I and Cai have added to our wardrobes. Beginning with my mummy bits.

These are items I have collected over the past couple of months but have not worn yet.

I'm one of those people that will buy something and keep it in my wardrobe until I have somewhere to wear it too. I subconsciously forget I have bought the item and then greet it with a 'ooooh hello you'.

I do not like pictures, so taking these pictures below was a challenge; as I chose the completely wrong day to do this. 28 degrees outside in the sun, with a full face of make up and outfit changes. I was meeeeelllllttttiiinnnggg. Thankfully my mum and boyfriend were behind the scenes and being photographers for a few hours.

Cairo was also very helpful and was on cardigan and bag duty, although all he really did was pick plums.

So here it is, my new additions to my Summer wardrobe.

Motherhood : Style Editions

Motherhood completely turns your life around - 360 degrees.

One of the many things that has changed for me on entering Motherhood, is my style. Comfortability, child friendly and body changes have all played a factor.
I feel I used to be more adventurous with my fashions, whereas now, rely heavily on my mummy comfy clothes.
You know the clothes I mean, that t-shirt, those jeans or leggings, the cardigan or when wanting to 'make effort' the good ol' leather jacket ;)

I think as my son is getting older, he is very independent and I now; from experience know how to pick an outfit (the night before) and how much make up I will be able to get done, between Henry Hugglemonster & CBeebies morning programmes.
Time management - Mummy skills 101!

Currently, I feel like I am trying to get my footing again with my style. I think my brain now has more space to consider additional things and I am going to put a little focus on my style and clothes.
So with that in mind, I am currently trying to find my happy medium in regards to my clothes. Somewhere between comfy and glamour.

I am trying a different approach this time too. With the beginning stages:
- Building my wish lists
- Purchasing essential and staple pieces
.... and going from there

What are some of the things that help to change your style?

My Mothers Meeting Experience

The [sometimes] great world of social media. I had found the Mothers Meeting page on none other than Instagram and followed them instantly!
I wish I had found out about Mothers Meeting a year ago but better late than never.
A few days later I had scrolled through their website and got tickets to their free event - Does Super Mum Really Exist. Yes I repeat free, no money to pay, zilch, nought, none.
How amazing is that.

Mummy Problems

Yesterday was a difficult day.

We had a friend round with his son and all started so well.

Cai loves kids and is so excited to play with them.

However he will also sometimes really TEST the boundaries, 'showing off' you could call it around others.

His testing today resulted in 10+ solid minutes of crying, TANTRUMS, having to be held on my lap while he wanted to fight to be free, snot running, all while mummy was trying to entertain and not look too flustered. Which carried on until bath time. Just a mess.

I know it can always be worse, but I do get embarrassed and a lil frustrated when my lil one acts up especially in front of people. He is normally so well behaved and yes he is still little but I know he understands a lot. He knows majority of the time what he should and shouldn't do - he gives you the eyes when going to do something naughty, but I do not want this behaviour to become a regular occurrence. He needs to know alongside with my love for him and my softish nature...mummy is boss.

I find he also listens to his dad so much better these days, which is not fun when you're the one with baby for the majority of the day. Is it a guy thing? But hey ho I will get it together. Just one of these parenting hurdles.

Some days being a mummy is tough!

Learning and finding a way to discipline your child can be difficult!

I know that I am only at the beginning of the journey with Cai and when I am older and he is taller, bigger, older I will look back and know ..... It was so worth. Water off a ducks back and all that :).

My baby boy I love you dearly.

But bare with me too as mummy is also trying to find her way.

Are there any behaviours you find difficult from your little one?

Monday Mani

As I am now a mummy, my nail polish does not last or stay chip resistant for long AT ALL. I'm lucky if I get 3 days wear out of them, so I usually tend to paint them twice a week especially if I have something special going on.

I've always enjoyed painting my nails however I am no nail or manicure expert, I just paint them and hope for the best. But I thought it would be nice to feature my nails of the week on Mellies Corner.

I used Barry M Nail Paint in Cyan Blue and Greenberry, with Primark P.S Love Nail Pens in White and Pink to get this look.
