So here we are December 31st 2014. The last day of this year......and what a year it has been. 

2014 has been a good year. 

The year of change (for me). 

Mal and I were reunited and it feels so gooood - shoutout to Peaches & Herb.

Watching my little boy grow, develop and learn so much has been so amazing. 

This year has also helped me to learn to reflect, a lot better. 

I have started blogging and studying again 

and 

I loves it.

I am learning and starting to re find Mel again, although I am a mum number 1, it's always nice to remember and enjoy doing things for you. 

With each passing year, we all get strangely reflective in the latter weeks. 

Did we do enough?

Was this year a good year?

Did I make the most out of it?

As we will never see 2014 again. 

So with entering into a new year I wish to keep positive, focused, motivated and enjoy being inspired by the wonderful world we live in. It really is such a beauty. 

I am looking forward to gracing new milestones with my son, living life with my boys, loving them, and our families, along with painting my nails a plethora or colours :). 

Embracing change, learning to understand what I can and let go of the things I cannot.

Just being happy. 

2015 I'm looking forward to ya.

Where does the time go. 

As I'm writing this I am so emotional.....holding back the tears. 

So I shall keep it short & sweet.

It has been such a pleasure to watch and help you grow and develop my little love.

These past 2 years, have been the most amazing two years of my life. Thank you.

I thank God daily for you, and for choosing me to be your mummy.

The kids are off from school which only means one thing at this time of year. 'Tis the season to be jolly....the Christmas holidays are here.
When I was a littlun I used to be so excited to watch all the films and the Gladiator, Blind Date and Surprise Surprise specials, that the Christmas holidays bring.

Mal is currently off so we will have many a opportunity to watch some of our favourite festive season films, with each other, alone, with Cairo, or my mum.
Although I will watch the Home Alone's, Elf's and Bad Santa's, the only chrismassy film I like is the Grinch. Below are some of the films that we enjoy at this time of year.
We won't get through all of them, but it is always nice to dream isn't it?
My son is the epitome of the energiser bunny, so currently we don't really watch much films with him, as he is only really interested in the songs. (Well songs and action scenes, he is such a boy).
Cai is far too busy to sit still for a whole film lengths time, unless it has Sofia the First, Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Sheriff Callie and chums in it.

Hey hey hey guys. 

Here is my third instalment of my festive edition Monday manis. I let you guys know the festive inspired nail look I will be rocking this December. 

For this week we have the :

Party All Night Nails

This weeks mani is all about the upcoming Christmas party's. With just over a week left until Christmas, many work places, friends and extended family members usually have their Christmas Party around this time. This can be anything from a small office party, a gathering at a friends house, to dinner or a full blown night out (with additional hangover in the morning). 

So with this in mind, I wanted to do a pretty glam mani that will also have lasting power through work days all ready for your special Christmas night out. 

For this weeks Party All Night Nails I have given you two options :) 

For the first look I have used Revlon Colorstay in Amethyst with Barry M Gold Glitter on the tips. 

 Don't we love purple shades for winter. I found this little gem in T K Maxx for £2 bloody bargain! I think this mani is so suitable for the festive season as it reminds me a little of Christmas pudding lol. This is a great purple nail polish with some shimmer running through it. Not an obvious shimmer, but enough to add a nice finish to the polish. For me this mani wouldn't be complete without some glitter added and what better polish to use, than the Barry M Gold Glitter to add some extra dazzle to this look.

For the second look I have Beauty UK White Out nail polish. 

I think it is safe to say I am a Beauty UK lover, and they have moved up to my faves with Barry M nail polishes. Beauty UK's White Out reminds me of snow. Its is almost a creamy looking nail polish which I love and helps to give another dimension to the nails. Super complimentary, gorgeous formula. A win for me for a great festive nail. 

I think both these looks will work well for your potential Christmas Party. You can't go wrong with reliable white and royal purple nails as they go with everything and suit everyone!

What do you think of my Christmas Party nails?

This is my last 2014 Christmas Gift Idea list, and what better way to end things than with gift ideas, for the little ones in our lives. 

I am a mummy to a nearly two year old little boy and I wanted to do gift ideas for babies and toddlers, hence why I have called them the little ones :). 

As my son's birthday is on Christmas Day, I have tried to find smaller presents, (as his main presents will be for his birthday) that can also work as stocking fillers all under £25. There are some great finds here, many favourites that we still have till this day, that I feel, make the perfect gift for the little ones this Christmas.

I am back with another, smaller set of great presents, all for the lucky men in our lives. I find it so difficult to shop for men sometimes. Women are much more simple I find and there is so much out there catered to the ladies that won't break the bank. 

Nevertheless, I have found some wonders that come under £25, as ideas on what to get the lovely men in our lives this Christmas.

As we are now in December, this month brings along a few events with it.

Cairo's 2nd birthday yay! Christmas holidays, New Years and our anniversary - mine and Mal's that is.

As we all know I love all things nails, I thought it would be a nice idea to focus my December Monday Mani's on nail looks that will be suitable, or give ideas for the upcoming festive season.

This week we have the : 

For this look I have used Angelica nail polish in Truly Taupe and Barry M Gold Glitter on the tip of my ring finger.

I am so sorry for the lack of posts on my blog recently. I have missed blogging and have been M.I.A a little too long for my liking. 

I have been struggling with balancing all me bits as of late, but think I have finally found a happy place with them all. All about getting the balance right. 

Going back to study has been so much more enjoyable than I thought it would be, but it is also pretty intense. I have been so focused on my studies, completing my homework and assignments, and spending time with my son & partner. 

Mal and I are both pretty busy recently as he is also studying - SUPADAD and even though I see him everyday I miss him. We miss quality time with each other and date nights are not always possible; so we have been trying to make a more conscious effort to set aside time for each other and ourselves. But where art thou time?

So within trying to keep on top of things, I have neglected Mellies Corner a wee bit :(.

I was also feeling a little disheartened (I think that's the right word), as I was reading into the 'blogging thing' too much. Thoughts of why bother, not as good as, no one is interested in ..... were a few that crossed my mind.

I had a read of a few random posts I have done and I remembered exactly why I started blogging (again). 

I enjoy sharing my random thoughts and wishes with the universe. I absolutely love looking back at moments and seeing/reading the changes with my son. 

I think as I can have quite 'perfectionist-like' tendencies, it is really important for me to put out content on my blog that I am happy with, definitely quality over quantity. 

So for the time in hand, I will be posting 2 x weekly minimum. 

If I have a few extra minutes or stick to my plans, you never know there may be 3, 4 even 5 posts - slight exaggeration, but you get my drift. 

So I am going to not be too hard on myself if I am not able to post as many times as I would like, and just enjoy the wonderful world of blogging and sharing snippets of our life with the world wide web.

I want to live in the now with my family and spend as much time as we can creating memories and trying to capture them to also share on Mellies Corner. 

[Can we just talk about how hard it is to take pictures of, or with my little man. He really is speedy gonzales and just does not keep still.] 

I have a couple posts coming your way that I am super excited about as it is approaching December and that is my baby's birthday month.
